[ARCHIVED] Canvas courses stuck on dashboard

Hi! I know that you're supposed to be able to remove old courses from your dashboard by un-starring them, but there are 4 random courses that I do not have starred and yet I can't get them to leave my dashboard. This was never a problem in the past and it's a pretty random assortment--university organizations, one of which is an old, inactive course from 2016. Is there some way to fix this? Again, the traditional method of just deselecting the courses that appear on your dashboard isn't working because when I go to "all courses," none of those classes are selected...and yet they still appear on my dashboard.

This Dashboard behaviour is unusual. In this instance I would reach out to Canvas Support How to contact Canvas Support or approach your Canvas Support crew at your institution Service - Canvas: Request General Sup...

For some reason when my current professors finally published their Canvas pages for this term, these un-starred ones disappeared from my dashboard! Problem solved I guess...?

I came here to look for an answer but I didn't want to have to call tech support so here's what I did that worked. I went into the all courses tab, and even though the classes on my dashboard were not stared, I starred them anyways. I went back to my dashboard, they were still there of course. I went back to the all courses tab, untarred the classes I no longer needed on my dashboard, and then they were gone. It's like I had to do a Canvas version of turn it off then turn it back on again. 

Steps:

Go to Canvas Homepage

Click on the Courses Tab on the Left side of the dashboard

Above where your classes are listed, click the "All Courses Tab"

The first things on the screen are the classes on your dashboard. 

Star all the classes that are not already starred. 

Go back to Dashboard

Go back to "All Courses Tab"

Un-star the classes you don't want

Should be fixed! 

Keep in mind, this is what worked for me, and if you go to your courses tab and the classes you don't want on your dashboard are already starred, just un-star them and see if that works.
