[ARCHIVED] Canvas in Elementary Schools

I am looking for information regarding using canvas in grades K-4. Our school district uses a standards based grading scheme for elementary grades, but our grading program does not support that scheme. We use canvas at the secondary level and are looking into the option of using Canvas throughout the district. My goal is to gain more insight on this topic and connect with another school district using canvas in elementary grades as well as uses standards based grading.

We use Canvas in grades 4-12.  All grades are using standards-based grading. We use Outcomes in Canvas and the Learning Mastery Grade Book to keep track of mastery.

 @sherryjorris ‌, our district will be using a new report card with standards-based reporting for our upper elementary grades next year. Currently our elementary teachers aren't using the Canvas gradebook in any form and we'll be exploring how we could use Canvas to meet the needs for elementary grade reporting. Do you have any lessons learned or pain points that you've encountered using the learning mastery gradebook?

Currently our elementary teachers use Outcomes and then have to record the

grades in their grading program called TeacherEase. The company promised

that the new grade book would integrate with Canvas but it doesn’t.

Currently grades 7-12 are practicing by using Outcomes in Canvas. We have a

programmer that is going to create a new grade book that will pull from the

Learning Mastery Grade book. We are using the Marzano method of

standards-based grading so each teacher entered their own Outcomes rather

than being done at the account level. My teachers love Outcomes and think

they have things under control. The teachers also use question banks by

standards and levels of difficulty.

This is what I am looking for. Our elementary teachers do not have an online method of tracking outcomes, which is why I believe Canvas may be the way to go for them.

We use SGB K-6 and all of our teachers use Canvas, K-6. They use various

assessment tools and assignments in canvas, often with outcomes.
