[ARCHIVED] Changes to copied course materials are changing the original course's content (mirroring)

A group of teachers and I have a Canvas sandbox course that we collaborate in. When I copy content from this sandbox course into another course then I make changes to the pages and assignments in the new course (the copied version), it edits the sandbox's material. How do I fix this?

I am not sure what would be causing that to happen. In my experience, when you edit content in a course that has been copied over, it should not be making any changes to the content in the original course that it was copied from. 

The only thing I can think of that could be causing this to happen is if the courses are using a feature called Blueprints to push out updates. If needed, it might be best to submit a ticket to support to see if they can track down why content is being edited in the sandbox course.
