Hello @david_griffith
Thanks for posting this in the Canvas Community!
This is a great question! I really hope that this becomes possible in the future. I can see why it would be useful for instructors who are wanting to add additional questions to an existing item bank. It seems like some sort of limitation that currently exists for Item banks for New Quizzes.
You might be able to see if an idea has been presented already that addresses this

This is a great question! I know you can configure grading schemes in your course that can be used on assignments. You could play around with this and see if it would work for you. Specifically, if you are entering marks in for a task like an assignment, Canvas will allow you to select a grading scheme to be used for the specific task or assignment. From within the edit screen of the assignment, when you select the option for "Letter grade" under the the Display Grade As header as seen HERE.
Of course, this would require you to configure the grading scheme to your needs. I am including THIS guide that goes over how to add a grading scheme.
Let us know what you end up doing there. I am curious if using a custom grading scheme will work for what you are trying to accomplish.

Hello @KeelyMcCarthy
Thanks for posting this in the Canvas Community!
I know that the Students can see the Roll Call attendance assignment from the assignments page in the course and this will allow them to view a report of their attendance record. HERE is the Canvas guide on that from the students perspective.
The assignment becomes available after your take roll for the first time.
The Roll Call Attendance tool in Canvas currently does not allow for students to mark themselves. You mentioned that some institutions have packages that allow them to do this. Were they possibly using another tool or LTI for this possibly?
Hopefully this helps!

I apologize that your syllabus is not visible on the mobile app. Without being able to take a look at your specific example, I would not be able to tell you 100% why that is happening. It might be best to contact Canvas support and have them take a look at your example.
Is the navigation link for sure enabled in the course settings for students? (I know you said it is included in the course navigation) Does it show the hidden icon when viewed on your computer?
Is the syllabus navigation link possibly cached? It's rare to see this, but will occasionally happen. The work around for this is to go to the course settings screen, select Navigation. You will disable the syllabus nav link, hit update, enable it, hit update again. Check the course out from the app again.
Let us know what you find out on this!

I know that you can look at something called an Access Report for an individual student. I don't think that will display the total time spent on a page, but HERE is the Canvas guide on that.
New analytics also has a report that can be generated called Course Activity which generates a list of daily user views and participations.
From the admin side there is also a report that can be run called User Course Access Logs.
I am not totally sure if any of these are what you were thinking of, but let us know!

It sounds like your instructor is using Peer Reviews in Canvas. I will try and provide as much detail as I can for you on this.
To answer your initial question, there is not a way to have one assignment be two assignments. This is because instructors will have you submit to a specific assignment in your course and then they will configure peer reviews to be completed for the submissions that took place within it from other students.
Peer Review are typically configured one of two ways by the instructor. They will either have Canvas automatically assign peer reviews for you to complete, or they will manually assign the peer reviews for each student.
When a Peer review is assigned to you, you should receive a notification to your email address and also see something in the To Do list. You can also navigate to the assignment and look under the submission details to see which peers you have been assigned to review. If you did not receive the notification, you might want to double check your notification preferences, and your junk or spam mail. Speaking from personal experience, I have had notifications such as this go directly to my junk/spam mail folders before. Canvas support can take a closer look into this issue if you are not receiving the notifications for some reason.
For notifications, you can configure those on the course level, and on the account level.
I am including a few guides for you on the subject of Peer Reviews.
THIS guide goes over how to check to see if you have Peer Reviews to complete as a student.
THIS guide goes over submit a peer review for an assignment as a student.
If your peer review requires you to use the DocViewer to add annotations, THIS guide will show you how to accomplish that. It's worth noting that If your instructor anonymously grades an assignment, annotations in DocViewer will not be available until the assignment is unmuted.
THIS guide goes over how to locate your peers' Feedback for Peer Reviewed assignments.
Hopefully this helps a little bit!

Hello @SarahSzwan1
Thanks for posting this in the Canvas Community!
I understand that you wish to have the general feedback on quiz questions hidden for students.
The best way to accomplish this is to hide the grades in the gradebook for the quiz. When you do this, Students will not be able to see their quiz responses in Quizzes on Canvas while quiz grades are hidden.
HERE is a guide on how to hide the grades if they were previously posted to the students.
If you have quizzes that you wish to hide this on that students have not taken yet, HERE is a guide on how to select a posting policy. To hide grades and results, and responses, you will want to select the option for Manually.
Hopefully this helps!

Hello @SherryELusk
I am not totally sure if you are referring to the student ePortfolios created from within your Canvas account, or the Projects you can create on Portfolium. I will provide you with documentation for both platforms.
If your trying to share an ePortfolio that is private, you can easily generate a link that will give other access to view your ePortfolio without having to log into canvas. HERE is guide on how to do that.
If your ePortfolio is public, it will allow anyone with the URL to view your ePortfolio. HERE is a guide on that and how to adjust those settings.
If you are using Portfolium, You can easily generate a link or embed code to share. HERE is a guide on that process.
Hopefully this helps!

Hello @Gabarros
Thanks for posting this in the Canvas Community!
I apologize you're having trouble with Safari.
I have not come across this issue you are describing, but there are a few things you can try to rule out for possible causes.
I know Canvas recently updated THIS doc and now list that Safari version 15 and 16 are supported. If you are running an older version, updating to the latest version might make a bit of a difference.
Does Safari run smoother after clearing your cache and cookies? This can sometimes make a huge difference with issues loading content specifically. I try and clear cache every few weeks to ensure I don't have any collected cache hindering my ability to load certain websites and content. HERE is the canvas guide on clearing cache on MAC. I recommend using the option for 'All History' when troubleshooting stuff like this.
Incognito: Does the behavior continue while using an Incognito private browser window in Safari? If not, it could be something such as an extension and or a blocked permission and or cookie causing the issue.
Blocked cookies and permissions. I know that sometimes a stubborn blocked cookie or permission can cause problems such as this. Do you have Block All Cookies enabled in the Safari preferences?
Hopefully this helps and I am not repeating previous troubleshooting you have already tried! Let us know if you find out what the cause is to this issue!

This is a great question! I am very sorry you keep getting sent in circles. From how I understand it, Respondus HAS to be re-enabled in the LDB settings for any course you copy the quiz too. I think it has something to do with the way the LTI works in each specific course and instance. If you copy a quiz from a master shell that has it enabled already, the LTI information does not come over with it, and does not get enabled following the import into the new course shell.
I don't know why that is, but I believe it is intended to work that way.

Hello @TommyTaylor
Thanks for posting this in the Canvas Community!
I wanted to welcome you and let you know that this is a really great question!
There is not a way that I know of to set up course and make it so that a designated grade is required to "pass" a course. This is usually left up to institutions to determine at the end of the course term or semester and is usually based on the grading schemes used.
However, there are a few things you can possibly explore and play around with on this subject. If you have access to a sandbox or development course this would be the place to try it out. A couple things that comes to mind are using something called Module Requirements (Link to a GUIDE) and possibly Prerequisites. (Link to a GUIDE). More specifically, you can set a requirement for Students To Score At Least a minimum score on something shared into the modules page. This is usually something used to force students to complete the defined requirements within the module before the module will be marked complete. You could set certain scores for the assignments in the requirements and then have an item such as a page, at the end that needs all the requirements to be met to unlock. The page could contain information about the course being complete or something. Sometimes this page will contain information about how to receive and download a certificate of completion.
Another option you might be to explore and use is weighted grading. (GUIDE) You can weight the final course grade based on assignments within an assignment group in the course. So if you were to place your 5 assignments in a group and weight it, the student will need to get 70% on all assignments in the the group to get a passing grade or completion.
If your institution has an instructional design team, they might be able to go over a few options with you on this subject.
Hopefully this helps get you pointed in the right direction!

Thanks for posting this in the Canvas Community!
I was able to test this out on my end. I discovered that if you have the option to shuffle questions enabled on a new quiz, it does not reorder or shuffle the questions that are attached to the stimulus content. Instead, this results in any of the other questions outside of the ones attached to the stimulus being shuffled.
Hopefully this helps!

Hello @glparker
Thanks for posting this in the Canvas Community!
I understand how complex this can be to manage with courses that contain large amounts of enrollments. You could adjust some of the course level permissions that allow users to send a message to the entire class. There is actually a course level permission called Conversations - send messages to entire class.
I also noticed that for the permission Conversations - send to individual course members it allows user to send messages to individual course members. however, In the additional considerations for this permission, they list: When disabled, students can still send individual messages to course teachers and course TAs. Additionally, when disabled, students cannot send individual messages to students who belong to the same course-level groups. This might be something you could consider also.
Outside of adjusting course level permissions, I know that providing a method of contact can go a long ways when students need to reach out to the TA or instructor for additional assistance. Some instructors will set up an actual page within their modules that will list this information. I have seen some place this in the syllabus and home page.
There might be a third party tool that could be used to avoid this... however I don't have any experience with that unfortunately. I am hoping that we might be able to get some more community members to comment and share their experience with this.

Hello @DeaKollekowski
Thanks for posting this in the Canvas community!
The reason you can't use the Send to option for the student is because that function is only intended for course roles that have the permission for Course Content - add / edit / delete. Typically this is for instructor and sometimes TA roles.
If you have something in a specific module, you could always send them a link to the module content. You would just go to the module with the recording, click on it and copy the URL at the top of your browser. This link can then be shared with the student as long as it is published and available. The other option would be to locate the media in your files page and send them a link to that file. Of course, the files navigation link would most likely need to be enabled in the course.
Hopefully this helps!

I know that in your catalog analytics you can get summaries and user data for enrollments, revenue, user registrations, and completions. HERE is a guide to check this from the catalog analytics page. The Completions tab should show: Student Name, Listing Name, Enrollment Date, Completion Date, Certificate. Other than that, acting as the student and physically going to the modules page to see if they marked everything as done it the other option.
For your bonus question, I believe you are correct in that the course won't look complete in the students profile until the course has officially concluded.

Currently, the iOS app for students does not allow them to use the pinch gestures for zooming in and out on certain content in Canvas. I am not sure why this is the case, honestly. Seems like a limitation or something? I assume this might be due to the way the app displays specific content in a given Canvas course.
I believe that they should be able to Zoom in and out on items like files that you have added to the course. The reason for that is due to the fact that the Canvas doc viewer is actually rendering it within the app.
Hopefully this helps!

My apologies for the late response on this post. Were you able to resolve this? I think this was actually related to a known issue that was investigated back in December. I believe that it is resolved now, but if you are still seeing this, it might be best to contact Canvas support to have them take a look with their SIS team.
Hopefully this helps!

I am not quite sure what you mean when you say 'Market Tools' here. However, I was able to find THIS blog post from 2021 about some of the better apps/LTI's teachers and faculty members are using in Canvas at the K12 level.
I also found THIS product blog for LTI integrations in Canvas.
You can also look through the Edu App Center HERE to see some of the different apps that can be integrated in Canvas.
Hopefully this helps!

I know that some apps require a paid subscription before you can begin using the app as an integration in your Canvas course. Grammarly appears to have an LMS integration that can be used in Canvas, based on what I am seeing HERE on Grammerly's FAQ.
If you could elaborate a bit more on what you mean when you say that you want to use 'Grammarly while marking modelling' we might be able to find a more solid answer for you.
