Will the quizzes in Canvas encounter any issues if the instructor changes the passcode after students have started the quiz? I would like to do this to maximize quiz security and ensure that students cannot share the passcode (i.e., via text message) with students outside the proctored room. Thanks.
We have done this for the exact same reasons and experienced no issues with changing it.
We also have had to change the quiz password several times for various reasons and have never experienced any problems. It appears that once a student starts the quiz they will not be locked out because the pass code was changed.

Hello,
I would like to ask for an updated answer to the question. We used to be able to change passcode in Classic Quizzes while a student was in the quiz with no problem. We want to know whether we can continue doing this in New Quizzes (without kicking the students out of their current attempt).
Thanks.
When I try this it kicks my students out of the quiz.
Very frustrating.
Same here. Changing code during exam kicks the kids out.
Curious if you guys are using New Quizzes or Classic? I used to do this all the time in Classic and never had any issues.
Classic version for me. Haven't found a work around. 😞
Hello,
Do you mean to say that you are no longer able to do this in Classic Quizzes? Oh MY!!
