In my earliest days working with Moodle, I wondered...can a learning management system be used as a collaborative tool? Suppose K12 teachers in a school, district, or state want to share learning resources. Could Canvas provide the vehicle?

If curious, please have a look. An example has been created here:

K12 Sci Curriculum  (Course is set to "Public")

Note: This course needs revision, having discovered accidental import of content.

Update: New course created:

Collaborative Curriculum Development (No wonky bits!)

Modules and discussion topics could help a group of educators to

1. choose a small number of standards to target
2. determine general selection criteria (what goes in "The List")
3. establish guidelines for listing items (what "The List" will look like)

If useful, this could be fashioned into a template and added to the Commons.

Thank you for your post  @azwaldo ​. I clicked on the public course link and it appears as if everything is locked. I cannot access the modules... can you help troubleshoot so we can all view these resources?

Yes, provided a wee bit of assistance from others in Canvas community (to test the process), I plan to refine the course and make it available in the Canvas Commons.

Support ticket submitted, I am curious to see what might be found. Meanwhile, to prepare for the first trial of this course, a new course "template" has been created: Collaborative Curriculum Development

This is a test to explore the use of Canvas in collaboration for curriculum development; so, much of the content is subject to change, and has many editorial comments (in red).

Set to "Public", it is open for review.
