How does a course show up as "Completed" in the student dashboard?

After you complete the course requirements listed in Catalog and course module requirements listed in Canvas, the course should display on the Completed tab in the Student Dashboard. Also, once the course is outside the section or course dates, the listing moves to the Completed section of the Student Dashboard.

However, there is a feature where an Administrator can hide the courses from the Completed tab (see this Admin article How does Canvas Catalog interact with my Canvas Account? ). The Admin can select the “Restrict students from viewing course after [participation] end date” checkbox, and then the course does not display in the Completed tab.
