It looks like a few people have had this issue, unable to copy or import a course. I keep getting an error message. I have opened a ticket but have yet to hear back. Has anyone had this issue and found a workaround?

Unfortunately there are not any workarounds for this. You can either create a new course and copy the contents into it, but if that's not an option for you you will have to wait for support to get back to you as users here in the community are unable to help diagnose a stuck course import issue.
