Our school system uses Gmail to register students into their accounts.  Is there a way to set the student's Gmail account as a default for communication without having to have to choose default email at the Windows level?  Most students are sharing computers to do their online schooling, setting email default at the Windows level will mess up other users of the computer.

I'm not sure I understand your question.  Are you talking about the default email address for notifications in their Canvas account settings?  Do you mean setting a default email address at login in their browser?
