Again, without knowing the subject/course it's difficult to give advice on how to design exam questions. But I'm going to tag in @kmeeusen as a long time instructor and admin for various courses and Canvas expert. And I also recommend Quiz Settings to Maximize Security by @kona .
In general though, you could do some sneaky tricks but I do not recommend it:
- Not questions
- Google the answer and change 1 word
- True/False/False questions: students have to select the correct false reason if the statement is false. Actually this question type is my favorite.
Personally though, I like questions that the student has to review the "lecture content" in order to get the correct answer. I usually put instructions on the quiz page letting users know to leave the quiz page and then resume the quiz when they return.
