[ARCHIVED] Discussion is hidden also Announcements

I am trying to add a class discussion however it says that the discussion feature is hidden from students and I realize that the students are not able to participate as they do not see what I have posted. how do I change this setting? The Announcement feature is the same thing, it is hidden.

Hi  @aldina_wynter  and welcome to the Community!  Just to double check, have you added either an announcement that is supposed to be posted or a discussion?  Even if these tabs are enabled in a course (check Settings>Navigation), they will have the eye with a line through it indicating it is hidden from students if there is no content in these tabs.  Generally, a tab will show as hidden from students if it is empty or it has been intentionally hidden by the instructor under settings.
