[ARCHIVED] Does New Quizzes save work so students can finish later

I have started using the New Quiz feature but It is not saving student work that they can "resume" later. Am I missing something? With Old Quizzes, students were able to exit out of the assignment and just finish later if they did not have time in class. With New Quizzes, I am finding that students are having to take pictures of their work so they can copy what they have because if they navigate away from the page all their work will disappear.
