[ARCHIVED] Double Time for an Assignment

I have a student with a disability that needs more time to complete an assignment. Currently the assignment allows 30 minutes to complete (within a 24 hour window). I need to double that time to an hour (within the same 24 hour window). I can double the time for a quiz by using the "Moderated" feature, but it doesn't work the same way for assignments

Is it possible to assign the assignment with modifications separately just to that student?

I might have been up too long and my brain isn't functioning, but what type of assignment is this where you can say "you only get 30 minutes to complete it?"

I'm only aware of that functionality in Canvas for quizzes and can't think of any other assignment type where you can limit the time other than by setting the available from and available to dates. That wouldn't give them 30 minutes out of 24 hours, though, it would just say it needs done within the 24 hour period. My recollection matches the answer to a question from a week ago about Timed Assignments.

The one possibility I can think of is an external tool (LTI) assignment where the provider of the tool has offers the timed assignment capability. For example Pearson's Mastering products have a timed assignment that might be similar to what you're thinking of. If this is the case, then it is the external system where you would need to set the limit, not within Canvas.

Good point! We're using WileyPlus which is integrated into Canvas. It's a bit hard to know where Canvas ends and WileyPlus begins, but it's very likely that the assignment time is in the WileyPlus component. I will reach out to them for support. Thanks!
