Hi,
I am trying to download a Page from Canvas Commons. I go through the process, but it then gives me the following error message when I try to login:
{"errors":[{"param":"server-error","msg":"There was an error"}]}
I attempted to login prior to accessing the download, but I got the same message.
Here is a video of my experience:https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cqQibDtax4
The page I am trying to download is https://lor.instructure.com/resources/fcbf6b0b01904bdeb97bce9218837681 Thanks for any assistance from the community!

Hi Rick,
Thanks very much for your reply, and I now know what I was doing wrong. I was accessing the URL for the Commons content via a link outside of Canvas and I was not logged in! The publisher of the content had sent me the URL and I simply clicked on it.
Next time, I won't make the same mistake 😉
Kind regards,
Maryanne
Hi Maryanne,
I've never seen Commons accessed that way without already being logged in. The typical way (I think) would be to log in to your Canvas instance and click the Commons link on the left side of the global navigation. When you do this you should already be logged in to Commons through you Canvas instance. I'd suggest trying to go in to Commons that way, searching for the content and loading it into your course that way. https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-16712-4152725288
For what it's worth, when I try to access Commons directly like you did using https://lor.instructure.com, I get the same error when trying to log in.
If you don't see the link to Commons on the left side of Canvas it could be that your school has access disabled. In that case I suggest you talk to your local Canvas Admins or IT department about getting access at your school.
Good luck,
Rick
