We have an essay question in a module. We copied the module to other modules and now when you edit 1 essay question, the changes occur on all the modules with an essay question. Also, when the student completes the 1st essay, then complete the 2nd, it is posted as an update to the original. Is there a way to unlink the essay questions in the module? Thank you for any suggestions!!
Assignments, discussions, and quizzes in modules simply point to the item. So if you create it in one place, and then copy it, you are still pointing to the same assignment/discussion/quiz. You have to create a new quiz (essay question), one for each module, and then put the right one in each module. (And delete the current one in all the other modules!)

In addition to this, you'd also want to name each essay something slightly different otherwise life will get very confusing for you and the students! Ex: Week 1 Essay, Wk1 Essay, etc..
