[ARCHIVED] File link breaks when updating file

I have been working with Canvas for a few years now, og i use links to files a lot. When i upload a file to Canvas, i often copy the file link, and insert it i a word doc. og onenote page.

Many times I have updated the file (selecting "replace" without shanging the name), and the same link used to work after the file update. 

For som reason that does not work anymore. Now the link is broken, an I have to copy the link again.

Does anyone know why this has been changed, and if there is som kind of work around?
