This continues to be a big problem and it's now exactly two years later. I do not like that the comment is marked as "solved" when all that happened was a response acknowledging the problem. The previous workaround - closing canvas or using "previous" to go back multiple times - only works about 50% of the time. This is a major feature of Canvas that allows teachers to control how their students progress through the material...without this feature and a few others, it would be better to just use google drive (which is what my school is considering, but I would prefer to keep Canvas if the bugs were fixed)
