How do you submit a final grade in Canvas

Hi Theresa,

By default, the final grade in Canvas is automatically calculated based on all the individual assignment grades that the student has in the Canvas class.  The total points are added up, and divided by the total points possible to arrive at an overall percentage for the class.  Alternatively, the assignments may be grouped into Assignment Groups, and the grades weighted based on Assignment Group (https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/How-do-I-weight-the-final-course-grade-based-on-... )

The only option for manually entering a final grade is if your school has the Canvas gradebook set to all override grades ( https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/How-do-I-override-a-student-s-final-grade-in-the... )

Please note that these are only for how the final course grade is entered in Canvas.  For instructions on how a final grade is submitted to your school, you will need to contact the school.
