My students have completed an array of assignments already but no matter what I put in, grades for each student show as 0% total in the total grade column. Why is this? When I navigate to my assignments portion of Canvas, some of the "assignment type" categories (such as "imported," "homework," etc are showing as 0% of the total). How can this be changed? This is only an issue in one of my shells, and not the others. Any advice appreciated.
Solved! Go to Solution.
It sounds like you've weighted your gradebook so that different categories compromise specified percentages of the total.
Go to Assignments
Click the three dots next to +Assignment
Click Assignment Group Weights
Either disable the weights or set them how you need them to be as appropriate.

Oh my God.. THANK YOU!! I've been trying to figure this out for a week. I guess I was not typing in the right key words in the search.
@eantwi ...
Glad you were able to get this resolved on your end. For you and for others that are curious, there is a written Guide here in the Community that takes you through the entire process to weight grades based on assignment groups.
