[ARCHIVED] How Does a Student View a Previous Version of a Resubmitted Document?

When I annotate the PDF version of a student document, then they resubmit, how do they toggle back to the previous version, where the feedback was written?

Having access to your previous annotations and other feedback depends on whether they use the app or the browser version.

It works only with the app, but not in the browser?  That's really not very satisfactory.  Feedback on their assignments, all versions, is very important information for students to be able to easily access.

I have some potential good news for you.  If your school's Canvas administrators have chosen to enable something called "Assignment Enhancements", then students can view past submissions and feedback from the instructor via a web browser (not just the Canvas student app).  The catch is...not all schools that use Canvas have chosen to enable "Assignment Enhancements" just yet.  This would be a decision left up to folks at your school.  So, you might want to have a conversation with your school's Canvas admin or someone from your school's Online Learning/eLearning department to see what their plan is for enabling "Assignment Enhancements".  Here are a couple Guides that detail more information about this:

(You'll know if your school has enabled "Assignment Enhancements" or not based on the screenshots you see in these links compared to what you see in your own Canvas account.)
