Is it not possible to share/export a group of assignments to Canvas commons?

It is possible to share/export individual modules and groups of modules.

It is possible to share/export individual assignments, but NOT groups of assignments... Why is that? 

A feature like that would be very convenient and save me a lot of time for the way that I use Canvas...

Please add this feature!

My guess is that it is not possible to export Assignment Groups to Commons because the groups are mostly a method of organizing them.  Similar to your example, you can export a File to commons, but you can't export a Folder containing Files.  

If you would like to request this as a feature you can do so in the Canvas Studio section of the Community Canvas Studio 

I'm not sure of exactly what you are trying to accomplish by exporting Assignment Groups to Commons but perhaps one of the alternative ideas below might help.

• Create a course with just the Assignment Group and Assignments in it and Export that Course to Commons
• If you are just using Commons to copy things between your courses, instead import the Assignment Group(s) directly into a course.  When you import a course and choose to select specific content you do have the option to pick Assignment Groups.

I have found a way to share assignment groups to Canvas commons or other courses you have access to.

1. create a temporary module AssignmentGroup (or whatever)
2. Click add and assignment
3. Select the entire list of the group you want and add it to the module. This can be done by selecting the first assignment in the group, the shift and the last assignment and clicking add.
4. Then, you can add that module to commons or the other canvas class.  The assignments will be move to Imported assignments, which you can rename. (even easier if you make sure that is empty first.)
5. Then delete the temporary module.

Canvas should add this though, it would be straightforward.
