I teach Physics and am looking to utilize Canvas at our school next year. When making a quiz, is it possible to make multiple numerical answers with an accompanying text answer?
For example, I would like students to analyze one circuit, but ask them multiple questions for the one circuit. I would like the students to put in an answer (with the tolerance) with the proper units. In science, I teach that it is imperative that students solve and include units with their answers. Ideally, I would like to have a numerical answer box with a text answer box for each subquestion.
I would pose one circuit and have 5 subquestions about it. Each question would have a numerical answer box and text answer box.
Thank you.
Hi @nikiasilver ! Great question. The best way I would see to do this is to have your Circuit question as a stimulus. You could then attach a numeric question and an essay question to it. It would have 5 numeric and 5 essay questions each. The only other way is to make each question an essay question (keeping your stimulus) and the students put the numeric part in it and then the full response.
Have you taught them how to use the Equation Editor in the RCE? It really is helpful!
Do you think creating a table with multiple dropdowns could work for you? Check out this Canvas Guide: How do I create Likert scale quiz questions?
