[ARCHIVED] How do I add a Google Voice number as a textable number?

I use Google Voice.  It seems like you won't allow me to add it as a textable number.  Is there anything that I can do to change that?

This would be because all SMS have to go through a carrier and I'm guessing that Google Voice is not a carrier that can be routed through.  Even if it was, SMS is something we are sunsetting.  You can read more about that in

The better solution may be to download the mobile app on your phone and manage your notifications through the app.

Ok, so Canvas will no longer be using SMS but Google Voice does support MMS.  Is Canvas planning on adding that or otherwise allowing people to add a Google Voice telephone number?
