[ARCHIVED] How do I assign a New Quiz?

Hello,

I have created a New Quiz but I cannot see an option to assign it to my students when it is eventually imported into a live course. I recall seeing the assign section when I started to build the course, but there were no learners in that version of the course.

Hi Ingrid,

If you set the quiz type to Graded Quiz and give it points possible, by default it is assigned to all students.  In the quiz settings you can limit to a specific subset of students if you prefer.  After creating the quiz it is customary to then add it to a module so the students have context around the assigned quiz.  Does that answer your question?

What you've said makes perfect sense and this is true of the former quiz format. I was previously able to assign quizzes to specific students on different dates, but in 'New Quizzes' the settings are different:

Having searched both the Instructor and student support guides, I can't see any way to assign 'New Quizzes' to learners in the way I previously did.

Hi Ingrid,

Unless I am missing something, you can assign New Quiz quizzes to individual students or to sections in the quiz settings just like you could in the past.  Are you seeing something different from what I'm seeing?

It turns out that there is a technical problem which the Instructure support team have been working on but thank you for offering your assistance with this.
