[ARCHIVED] How do I make a new quiz using New Quizzes when I previously set my engine to the original quizzes?

Hi!

I wanted to try New Quizzes for one of my assignments for my class next week and I was having trouble finding that setting. I read the "How do I create an assignment using new quizzes?" article (@ctitmus) , but when I clicked the '+ Quiz' button, I did not get an option to choose my quiz engine. I thought that maybe I had made my settings such in that course to where I could not use new quizzes, so i started a new course. Even in the new course, I did not have an option to change my quiz engine.

Is there something I need to change in my settings so I can use New Quizzes?

Please help! Thank you so much!

Note: You can reset your quiz engine choice from the Quiz Options menu at any time.

When you click on the three vertical dots at the upper right of the Quizzes page, you'll see an option to "Reset quiz engine choice."

That said, if you aren't able use New Quizzes at all, and if you don't see an option to enable New Quizzes as a feature option in the Settings area of your course, it most likely means your school hasn't yet made it available. If that's the case, reach out to the local Canvas admin for your district to ask about its availability.

When I click on the three dots on the side of my screen in the Quizzes, I only get two options:

1. Mange Question Banks
2. Common Favorites

I am using Canvas Free For Teachers, so I am not connected to my school through Canvas. Therefore, I cannot contact my school to provide me with help. In my course settings, I found some feature options. It seemed to have updated how my editing end looks like. Will this help?

That explains it, @catdog . New Quizzes is not available in Free For Teachers accounts.

As an admin for our district account, I am unsure what setting I need to change for my teachers to access New Quizzes. When creating a quiz, there is no new option for teachers to choose this new feature. Can you direct me to how to fix this for our teachers? Thanks!

@whitney_plein  Your Customer Success Manager (CSM) first needs to enable the New Quizzes tool for your account, so if that hasn't been done yet, please reach out to your CSM. You'll find more information in the  FAQ: New Quizzes.

@whitney_plein  There are two things to look for/at.  As the Admin, go to your Admin page, then "Settings", and the "Feature Previews" (used to be called Feature Options) tab.  The third from the bottom one in the "Course" area is "New Quizzes".  You just want to make sure that this is unlocked or if you want to turn it on for all faculty you can check the red X and make it the green check.

If you just make sure it is not locked then this allows faculty to turn it on at the course level.  This is how we have things setup.  For them, the steps are almost identical.  Go to their course settings, Feature Previews and the second one from the bottom is New Quizzes, click to change it from a red X to a green check

After it is turned on, when faculty click to create a new quiz, they will get asked if they want a Classic Quiz or a New Quiz.
