[ARCHIVED] How do I recover lost text?

I was typing a reply and it suddenly disappeared. I cannot find it. Any suggestions as to how to recover it? Thanks.

Hello,  @oliverp1  , and welcome to the Community.  Unfortunately, there is no undo automatically on pages.  However, go to Settings then click on the Feature Options Tab.  Towards the bottom, you should see RCE Auto-Save.  If you do, turn it on.  It will start saving it.  

IF this page had been saved before, then close it and don't resave.  It will default to the last saved page.  I save often in case I make an error like this!

 @oliverp1 , if you're a student, you won't be able to access Settings or Feature Options—and if auto-save in RCE hasn't been enabled in your courses, you won't be able to use the feature.   Although this isn't going to help you at all with this immediate issue, we encourage students who don't have the auto-save capability available to them to compose their replies in an external application that incorporates auto-save capability and then copy-and-paste them into Canvas.
