How do I see the class average for a test?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@meixnerja , greetings! For a (legacy/old) quiz that was taken in Canvas, you can click on the quiz, then click "Quiz Statistics" (upper right side of page) and you'll get the average, high, low, SD, and average time to take the quiz.
Otherwise, to find this information for other assignments you can follow these directions - How do I view assignments or students individually in the Gradebook? - it's under the "View assignment information" heading.
Hope this helps! Kona

I just entered the grades about an hour ago. I needed to find the average. The following works but it is archaic and convoluted. If you know of a better way please let me know.
In the grades, changes the view of the gradebook to individual (this can be done through the Gradebook menu far to the left).
Once you are in the individual view, scroll down to content selection and select the assignment you want to check. Assignment information will appear down toward the end of the page where it will show the average, highest and lowest score.

@meixnerja , the way you've described, which is also explained on the link I included on my initial response, is the current way to find this information in Canvas. So, unfortunately, no, other than downloading the gradebook into Excel, there really isn't a better way to do this.
