[ARCHIVED] How do I word count an assignment

I need to check word counts for my student's assignment's. Is there a Canvas tool for this, as it is very time consuming to copy and paste each PDF back into work to check word counts.

Hi  @julie_vanonsele  there isn't currently an option for this in SpeedGrader but one has been suggested and it has a good amount of support (see https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/3454-word-count-for-speedgrader-docviewer-grading" modifiedtit...).  I would definitely vote this up as I would like to see the functionality as well and the more votes the better.

Just so you know, in this thread Word Count???,  @rmurchshafer  has a good suggestion about finding the word count in discussions if you ever find the need.
