I want to prevent students from opening a new conference when they entering the conference link. I read to change permissions, but for the life of me, I can't find the area to do that. In the menu, there is suppose to be an Administrator link below "Account" but this doesn't show on mine. Below "Account" shows "Dashboard" link. I assume my role is Administrator, because I developed the course, but maybe I checked off the wrong role? Where can I find my "role" link. Where can I find "administrator" ?

Hi, @lcarpenter4756 Welcome to the Canvas Community! It looks like you're using a Free For Teachers account. Free accounts do not have an admin role associated with them. For more information, please refer to the Canvas Account Comparisons PDF.

Yes, I am. So does this mean the student roles are set? The problem I am
having is when I schedule a conference, despite explaining to them how to
access the conference, they click "+ conference" and thus create a second
conference room. Then I have half the class signing in and heading to the
wrong room. Yesterday two students did this, so that there were 3 open
conference rooms and everyone was confused. I just want to prevent this
from happening and wish I could change permissions for students so only the
teacher can create them.

Yes, @lcarpenter4756 , that is correct: the ability to create conferences is the default setting for all students enrolled in Free For Teachers accounts. I've shared your question with the Free-For-Teachers group here in the Canvas Community so that other FFT users might be able to share their creative solutions for managing this.
