As my students submit comments for discussion boards, some of the comments will post multiple times--as many as 20 times in a row, all in the same minute. This is very embarrassing to my students, when the entire page is filled with their one comment, over and over and over.... How can we avoid this? I usually delete all the duplicate comments, but it's really time consuming.

HI @katiegibbons Thank You for your question.
I have not seen this behaviour in discussions before.
Is it the same few students that it is occuring to? Could it be an issue with how they are posting in the 'write a reply' area?
Perhaps you could share this guide with them to remind them how to add a comment? How do I reply to a discussion as a student?
If it is not an error you think they have made then it might pay to check in with Canvas Support to see if it is an issue with your instance. here's a guide for contacting them

Best of luck!
