[ARCHIVED] How to prevent the instructions from a Quiz to appear repeatedly?

Hello, I have made a Canvas quiz with the following settings :

- graded quiz

- locked questions after answering + show one question at a time

For this Quiz, I have a big block of text under "Quiz instructions". I would like to have these instructions only shown to the students once at the beginning of the quiz. Unfortunately, these instructions are shown for each question; since the quiz showcases one question at a time + locking the question after answering, I would like the instructions not to be shown for each question; instead, if the instructions can only be shown once at the beginning that would be perfect.

Would there be any way to achieve this via the Quiz settings?

Hi,  @c_mironiuc . Could you post a screenshot of how the instructions are appearing with the questions when you preview the quiz or take it in student view? I think that will help community members think about what might be happening. Thanks!

Hello, thank you for your response. 

Unfortunately, I can not give you the exact screenshots of my Quiz because it is private material.

However, my problem can be replicated for any Quiz that has multiple questions, a description, together with "Show one question at a time" + "Lock question after answering option".

I have created a dummy Quiz to showcase this : 

This Quiz has 3 points, with 3 questions, showing one question at a time + locking the questions after answering; also, it has a dummy quiz description, as shown above.

Now, when previewing the exam, this is what I have for the first question :

As can be seen, the quiz instructions are repeated for each question. For this particular Quiz, this may not be an issue. But considering that the Quiz instructions can have a really extensive length for another quiz, the student would need to scroll down for each individual question to get to the question; if there are tens of questions, this can be troublesome.

Would there be any way to fix this?

Codrin,

Instead of having that information in the instructions, have the first question of the text be the type "Text (no question)".  Then put the instructions there.  It will be the first item student see once they start but once they move to the next question they won't see it again.

Has this ever been changed or fixed? The option above in regard to first question being text would not work in my case as the exam is timed and I don't want to eat up that time by reading instructions.
