SpeedGrader was working fine for me last week; however, now when I click on the "Free annotation tool" to start drawing comments, as soon as I click on the paper it starts drawing and won't stop, so that I just get a mass of scribbles on the page. I thought at first it was something with my stylus, but my stylus works fine in other programs, and I also have this problem if I just use my trackpad. I haven't been able to find any information about this problem online.

@jwhite21 and @deb9 , if you haven't yet done so, would you please submit tickets to Canvas Support, using the Report a Problem option on the Help menu? How do I get help with Canvas as an instructor? provides general instructions, or use the support pathway provided by your school.
Thanks.
Yes It does not work on my MacBook Pro- This seems to be a major bug!!!!
Well, at least I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I also am using a MacBook Pro. This is so frustrating.
Someone must have messed this up. The free annotation tool does not currently work and it does not leave a box in the right hand margin. The width of the drawn line also seems to broaden in an inconsistent manner. This is a real disaster during Covid-19 because I gave to grade exams purely online. Hope someone fixes this ASAP

The Help menu in Canvas? I don't have Report a Problem as an option on my Help menu. I've already emailed the distance learning office at my school through Canvas, and have emailed their director, but I haven't gotten help with this issue yet. Do you have a link to some page where I can "Report a Problem" and submit a "ticket"?
@jwhite21 , yes, it appears that Olympic College has customized its Help menu to remove the Report a Problem option. Please use the "Email the Distance Learning Office at OC" link that displays on the menu and ask them to escalate your ticket to Canvas Support.
Okay, I'll do that. Thanks!
You're welcome, @jwhite21 . If it will help, I found a page on the OC website that has telephone numbers: Using Canvas | Olympic College
We need to have the free draw tool fixed so we can end a line using a MacBook pro - HOW DO WE GET THIS BUG FIXED ASAP!
@deb9 , a support agent needs to investigate the circumstances surrounding this, so please follow up on your support ticket to receive notifications on its status.
Not sure what is meant by "following up on the support ticket". Are the previous comments seen and considered by a support agent or does something need to be done? Is this a support ticket? I just need the ridiculous drawing problem solved ASAP.
@deb9 , to clarify, this is a community of users, and support agents do not monitor this forum. Our members can only let you know if they can replicate the error. For context, I access Canvas via Chrome on a Macbook Pro and the free draw annotation tool is working with no issues—so a support agent needs to look directly at your environment to help you troubleshoot.
The instructions for contacting support are in the response marked as Correct Answer in this thread, so please submit your own case if you have not yet done so.
Thanks I it all be most interesting if it is a chrome / safari issue. -Don
Fixed!! I updated Safari to 13.1 and the problem is gone
So glad to hear that, @deb9 !
Thank you for the help- Don
