To Our Amazing Educators Everywhere,
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
Why isn’t the submission process on the app (for me IOS) the same as it is on a desk top. I am not able to choose Office 365, which is where all of my assignments are. It’s frustrating having to use a computer just to upload an assignment when I use my iPad for all of my work.
Is there a way around this?
Hi Julia -
On the iPad, can you save the file from O365 to your iOS files? Students I work with frequently save files from Pages or even Google Docs as pdfs. They either "share to" Canvas Student or save the file to the device itself before submitting it through Canvas Student.
How do I submit an assignment from a third-party app to the Student app on my iOS device?
How do I upload a file as an assignment submission in the Student app using my my iOS device?
@jschriver ,
Which O365 app are you trying to submit through? Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive? Let me know and I'll test on my end since we are a O365 school. Thanks.
I had this problem last week. My mac laptop is in the shop so I was left to my iPad to fill in more than usual.
'I had completed my assignment in pages. Tried multiple options of the "send to" command.
I could not submit. I gave up quite frustrated. Tried again in the morning, hoping I had just missed a step - no IT just didn't work.
Some times, with the "send to" option, I know that students have had trouble with the assignment submission going through if the submission requires a specific format and the format that's being "sent" doesn't align with the instructor's requirements.
Double-check what the assignment is asking -- pdf, docx, etc -- and then return to the other app and go from there. I hope that does the trick. If not, please reply! Ryan and I will do our best to troubleshoot.
I have the same problem. I created a PowerPoint for an assignment on my iPad, then tried to submit it. The assignment was allowing submissions for ppt, so I know it was ok to submit. However, it just would not work. I know the process to go add it, but it was in grey like it wasn’t letting me tap on it to submit. I finally just had to give up and email it.
