How do you add google docs to your assignments?

Hi  @afunaro  and welcomes to the Canvas Community!  It's great that you posted your question here as this community is full of support and guidance in using Canvas.  First of all, are you an instructor or a student?  Are you trying to submit your Google Doc as a student?  You need to make sure that your instructor has set up the assignment in a way that allows you to do so.  Or are you an instructor who wants to link to a Google Doc?  If you are looking to just post a link that directs someone to a Google Doc, you can do that.  However, Canvas does offer a tool that will allow Google Apps to be integrated within the course, making it much easier to share files through Google Drive.  

Either way, can you please provide more info and a screenshot that shows us what you are trying to do?

I hate Canvas too I closed my Chromebook thinking the rich text editor would save but nooooo

It's terribly hard, like many things on Canvas.  Just give them a Word doc and ask your students to change it to a googledoc themselves.  

The reason I hate Canvas with a passion is that when a student responds on email, you can't always see if it it's part of a continuing conversation.   So, if I search to see whether a student is going to meet with me on Zoom on a Saturday and plan my whole day around being home for that, I find ensconced in another email chain since the student responded about the Zoom meeting in a chain about a video I sent to the class, that NO, she won't meet with me today.

For Canvas which makes loads of money and is used by most schools in the world, including Harvard, to be so user-unfriendly, is really despicable.  I think Canvas is despicable.
