In general, if you upload the video to Google drive, then use the Google Drive add-on in Canvas, then you can embed your video into a discussion, a page, or an assignment. If you don’t have Google drive then try another online service, grab the embed code, and paste. 

I use Screencast-O-Matic and the canvas addon. It’s a matter of clicking, rather than hunting for an embed code. If you let us know the particular software then we can get into more details.
