[ARCHIVED] Importing Course Content with Deprecated Google Cloud Assignment

Our district currently has Google LTI 1.3 Assignments enabled.

I understand that the old Google Cloud Assignment functionality will become deprecated in the fall.  Many of our teachers will be looking to import course content/modules that include assignments which were created with the Google Cloud Drive submission type.

Is there any word on how this will behave?  When teachers import their modules, will the old Cloud Drive assignments simply refuse to import?  Will it import a placeholder assignment?  Will they simply have to recreate these assignments with the LTI 1.3 format?

I don't have an answer but will share your concern about when the old Google drive LTI is deprecated.  The newer LTI 1.3 only works with school google accounts where the school has the Gsuite for Education license.  One of the things I love about the current Google Apps integration is that is works with any google suite account.  At my own University people are likely going to stop having the ability to use any google integration in Canvas since we don't use Gsuite for education. It's a shame that Canvas and Google will be shutting out normal google accounts this way.
