Does anyone know if there is a way to directly import questions from Classic to the New Quizzes?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hello @boozerl . The only way that I know to do this, is to make a quiz in Classic, and then Migrate it to New (using the 3 buttons to the right of the quiz name.) Once it's been migrated, you can add the question to a bank in New Quizzes.

Thank you! I was able to get it to work! 🙂
This is ridiculous that you have to import to Classic THEN export the quiz THEN import to question bank in new quizzes. Should be able to import the .zip file directly to new quizzes.
As usual, someone failed to include the end user in the usability testing. This work-around is better than re-typing thousands of questions, so I'm grateful for it, but the need for moving question banks would have been obvious to anyone who actually uses quizzes and question banks and not just designs software. It was, in fact, the first thing I looked for after going into the new quizzes.
yes, its ridiculous, I will not use new quizzes til someone fixes this major blunder.
Why is it that I am always wasting huge amounts of time working around new Canvas "features"?
Hello @jcarpenter1 ,
I tried your work around but I don't think I quite understand it, since it didn't work. What I did:
1) Created a Classic Quiz from 10 existing questions banks to randomize the question items.
2) Used the 3 dots menu and selected Migrate
3) Opened the Migrated Quiz.
The result: Error message that there were no questions in my question banks. The titles of them were all there, they just did not contain any questions.
What did I do wrong?
Thanks,
Teresa
You needed to make a quiz with ALL of the questions from the bank, and then migrate it and THEN add each question to a new bank. However, there was a recent update and you should be able to now migrate the bank from Classic to New.
