The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
Anybody knows if Canvas can generate reports about instructor's feedback, comments, generic replies, (maybe) emails/Inbox messages, announcement replies, discussion replies, etc. for course review purposes? We would like to be able to see if the instructor's communication with the student is sufficient and if the feedback is substantive or what kind of feedback is usually being given (constructive, supportive, etc.).
The way I am doing this right now is looking at each one of the comment box per assignment, per student... or through Inbox, or Announcements page (if case), etc. I just wonder if there's a way to pull these comments and feedback by the instructor so we can just look at it all at the same time from a page or two easily.
Thanks!
Best thing to look at for something like this is Instructor Insights - http://aspiredu.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Instructor-Insight-Overview.pdf - by Alliance Partner - AspirEDU.
Hi, @salcos -- I've talked to Charles Adams and Steve Blandin in the past. As @kona wrote, our Instructor Insight solution gives you many metrics about an instructor's engagement and performance in their courses. We do allow you an easy way to see grading feedback. We don't monitor the inbox for response time but we do provide many other engagement metrics. Please take a look at the brief Instructor Insight video overview on our web site. Thanks!
@salcos ,
We are giving the Instructional Designers area a little bit of love and just want to check in with you. This will also bring this question new attention.
