[ARCHIVED] Is it possible for students to submit rich content math equation answers?

I am hoping to have students submit entire equations as part of an answer but have not come across an automatically graded question type that allows this. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi @almo611,

I think the closest quiz type and question that may help is in New Quizzes as a Formula question type.

1. Go to your course

2. Click Quizzes

3. Click +Quiz in the top right corner to add a new quiz.

4. Select New Quizzes

5. Select Build at the bottom

6. Add a new question and select Formula as the question type. Allow scientific notation.

Keep in mind that not all schools have made the switch over to New Quizzes yet.  So, @almo611 may or may not have this option available.  The New Quizzes Timeline Overview and  gives more detail on the timeline for New Quizzes.
