[ARCHIVED] Linking YouTube Videos in New RCE Instead of Embedding

Is there a work-around in the New RCE to avoid having YouTube Videos Embedded? I am finding it a bit clunky and also overwhelming for students and teachers alike when you have other text/information on the page.

Hello there, @jennifernichols ...

Sorry to see that this question hasn't been answered yet.  We just turned on the New RCE for all of our faculty this past Friday, so I thought I'd try to answer your question.  If you do not want to show an embedded YouTube video on your page and only show a link to the video, you should be able to do this:

1. Add any text to your page.
2. Highlight the word or words that you want to make as a link.
3. While the text is still highlighted, press Ctrl+K on your keyboard.  This will bring up an "Insert Link" window.
4. The "Text" field should already be filled in with the text you highlighted.  Add the YouTube link in the "Link" text box, and click "Done".
5. Save your page.

The link should now be just a link...no embedded video.  You and your students would click on the link which would take you out to the YouTube website.

Thanks! Before when I was doing this it was embedding it.
