Sorry to see that this question hasn't been answered yet. We just turned on the New RCE for all of our faculty this past Friday, so I thought I'd try to answer your question. If you do not want to show an embedded YouTube video on your page and only show a link to the video, you should be able to do this:
- Add any text to your page.
- Highlight the word or words that you want to make as a link.
- While the text is still highlighted, press Ctrl+K on your keyboard. This will bring up an "Insert Link" window.
- The "Text" field should already be filled in with the text you highlighted. Add the YouTube link in the "Link" text box, and click "Done".
- Save your page.
The link should now be just a link...no embedded video. You and your students would click on the link which would take you out to the YouTube website.
