How do allow the students to see the Modules? There is a picture of an eye with a slash through it and cant figure our how to remove that symbol.

I assume that you are an instructor? Just to be sure, as you follow those directions that @AlliFoote provided above, you should make sure that the "Modules" button is in the "active" or top portion of the screen where you can re-order and arrange the course navigation menu items how you want. Then, make sure you are saving your changes by clicking the "Save" button at the bottom of the screen.
The other part of this is that you need to have at least one module "published" in your course.
