I have a school that set up a Newsela integration, and it appears to work fine -- until a teacher tries to sync her classes with Canvas. Then a message appears and says that a Canvas admin has disabled her ability to sync. So far, I cannot find where this ability is being "blocked," and I'm a district admin for Canvas.
Does anyone happen to know what's going on with this situation? Thank you!

In our case, it turned out that one of our schools purchased Newsela, and the vendor thought the school sub account admin was actually a district admin. The API token was generated from the sub admin's Canvas Account. However, Newsela couldn't connect the rosters until the token was set up at the district level.
Hi @paula_setserkis, I'm not familiar with Newsela but was curious about your question.
This FAQ was quite helpful and stated that 'Assignments have to originate in Canvas to sync with Newsela. Assignments originated in Newsela will not sync back to Canvas'. I'm wondering if that is your issue?
Sing out if you need a hand.
One of my coworkers is having a similar issue. I was able to sync my courses without any problem. I helped him try to follow the same process, and he keeps getting the error message: "We could not access your roster data on Canvas. Please try again later or contact your Canvas admin."
I am not sure why it worked for me but not for him. We are both using Chrome. He tried clearing his cache. He double checked to make sure that he was logged in with the correct email. If he goes to Settings|Faculty in Newsela, it shows his previous log-in, which is up to date. He and I both used the Newsela/Canvas integration all last year. I am not sure what to do next.

@mjacobs3, is it possible your co-worker hadn't yet published the course? Courses have to be published to sync with Newsela.
