There is absolutely zero reference to what student notifications are for... just the class.   WHY?

Same goes for the grade notifications.   No reference to the student.   That is a big miss.

You can add the name to notifications! ✨

How do I set my Canvas notification preferences as an observer? 

Near the top of the screen, you should see a checkbox that says Show Name of Observed Students in Notifications. If that's checked, it should make a big difference!

thank you.  that at least solves one of my issues.  not sure why in the world that wouldn't be set to on by default.
