Is is possible for students to directly download a file I have posted on the course site into their One Drive account? As of now, the only way I find they can do it is to download the file from Canvas, then separately open their One Drive and upload the file there. Is there an integration to skip the download/then upload step?
Chris,
I don't think so but I'm not much of an expect on OneDrive. Depending on the device they are using (iOS, Mac, Windows), it might be possible to have OneDrive as a mounted drive on their computer so that when they download or save a file they can choose that location. I know this works with iPads, but it's really more of a local device configuration than something that is set up through Canvas.
Have you every played with Cloud Assignments in Canvas? https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13059-4152649167 With this method it creates a link to a file in your OneDrive accounts and when students click on it a copy is created in their own OneDrive account kind of like what you are wanting to do. As a cloud assignment though it also is ready for them to submit the file back to you with changes. Maybe that is what you are looking for, but if not it at least make me think that depending on how you link to the OneDrive file it might give students the option to Save a Copy directly into their own account when they view it. I know Google Apps does this if linked correctly.
Good luck,
Rick

My students are unable to upload a file saved in one drive to canvas. The files are in the drive but it appears empty when they try to access the files to upload.
