Hi,
it sounds like it might be using most recent score or highest score. When I need students to complete several assignments to meet an outcome, I use n number of times. The different options are explained at https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Basics-Guide/What-are-Outcomes/ta-p/75.
Thanks for the reply.
I did try n number of times and it does work, but it does not post any scores as the student is working towards mastery, it just goes green on completion of the third task.
I would like the student to see a progression, so as they complete assignments they can see the mastery changing from red through to green.
I think I am missing something subtle in the setup here.
Aha, I see. My outcomes are competency-based, so either it's mastered on the three assignments or not -- AFAIK students don't see a progression.
On the learning mastery screen students should be able to see a breakdown of what contributes to the outcome and the status per assignment, e.g., outcome 1 mastered on assignment 1, not mastered on assignment 2 and assignment 3 not submitted yet, so that is a progression of sorts.
Thanks again for the reply.
Yes, I did not check the student view, and you are right, they do see the progression when they log in which is exactly what I want. It is strange it does not summarise this in the teacher view of mastery. But this is exactly what I wanted, as before some students were achieving mastery on completion of one task. Now they can see that they need to complete several tasks to gain mastery which to me makes more sense.
