Has anyone hosted a parent night regarding Canvas basics?  If so, tell a bit about it and if it was successful, or not!

Good evening Sarah,

My name is Andy Snow and I am a Customer Success Manager with Canvas. I have had the chance to help several K12 districts go through a 'parents night' using Canvas. I have several ideas that I think would be beneficial and some help aids with this. Perfect time to share with parents how to use canvas as an overview.  Are we going to have enough time to get all of our info out to them? No, that way we can put it on Canvas

Hi Sarah,

My name is David Armstrong. I am a 7th-grade science teacher and instructional technology coordinator/coach in my district. We recently rolled out canvas this year, and it was successful. We started the rollout with the students and teachers in the classroom. After we gave the students and teachers time to implement in canvas we then turned our attention to the parents.

We had a parent night in our build where both parent and students were invited. I had a group of students that I trained on hand to assist in helping parents navigate and understand the basics. We mage sure that parents had a log in, could log in, and then we did an overview of canvas and how to navigate in canvas. It was very successful!
