If I send an announcement to my students before I publish the class, will they get the announcement?

Hi Nadine,

The answer is yes and no.  The announcement will post inside the course and will be there for students to see after you publish the course.  But they will never receive a notification about it since you posted while the course was unpublished.  Your course really needs to be published for any of the communication tools to work within Canvas.
