[ARCHIVED] Problem with Studio Insights - Students report watching videos but Insights Shows They Didn't

Hello,

I rely on Studio's "Insights" analytics to confirm whether my students have watched weekly posted lecture videos in part, or in entirety (this is worth participation points for them).  Recently, I've encountered situations where "Insights" shows a student has not watched ANY of various videos yet I can see in the User "Access Report" the date/time some of these students accessed the page with the lecture video embedded.  I realize if they merely click on the page, it will register as viewed but there seems to be something else going on where some of my better students are watching videos but it is not recording this within "Insights."  Are there any known glitches with various platforms, or web browsers, that result in failure to report videos being viewed?

I realize this thread is more than 2 1/2 years old, so maybe you've found a solution by now, but I saw that it didn't have any responses, so I thought I'd check in.  I was reviewing the Release Notes page here in the Community for Canvas Studio, and I was wondering if any of the Insights updates from March 28, 2022 would have helped answer your question or not?  Here is a link for you:

If you are still running into issues that you've described above, it would be best to reach out to Canvas Support.  They might be able to take a deeper dive into why you were experiencing those issues with Studio Insights.

How do I get help with Canvas as an instructor?

Anyway...I wanted to at least give you this information...for what it's worth.
