[ARCHIVED] Quiz has been muted

I have set up a Fill in the multiple blanks Classic Quiz. I have set Let Students See the correct answers to be a date that has already occured so students can immediately see the right and wrong answers. 

When I test this out from a student view it says my answers are muted. Is there a way that it can just automatically give feedback like how it shows in the instructions?

Any help would be appreciated.

This may be because you asked essay style questions that are not auto-graded.  With a quiz filled with almost any other question style, it will be auto graded, and so the feedback should be ready for students as designed.

I just had the exact same problem in a Classic quiz, set up as ungraded, but a required element of module navigation. Apparently in this configuration Canvas automatically mutes the grade (it must be automatic, because this isn't a default setting anywhere else in quizzes and I certainly didn't mute it myself). The quiz was self-graded, multiple-choice, I had allowed students to see their answers, so they could see the incorrect ones.

The solution was to go to the Gradebook and unmute the Quiz from there. Click on the three dots next to the Quiz name, select Grade posting policy, select "Automatically". This fixed the issue for me.

What @GeriBoft mentions about changing the settings is correct.  What you have done (somehow) is set up the quiz for manual grading which means that the grades are not visible until you post them.  You can change the grading to automatically as GeriBoft mentions, but you also have to click on the show all grades as well.

As for display of the answers for the students, If you give the quiz without checking the let students see their quiz responses, then when you want them to see their responses and the answers  just click on that box.  You do not need to specify a date for when the correct answers can be viewed.

Now, the last thing you need to check is that if you have other assignments that aren't due yet.  For those assignments if youwant grading to be automatic, you will need to make sure that they are not set for manual grading(which will hide the scores).  If you have other assignments that are set for manual grading, then that setting has been turned on for your gradebook.
