When I make a Google Cloud Assignment (or copy) for my students, I am not the owner. I cannot see their updates in real time or provide feedback throughout the process unless they hit submit. At which time, it makes a picture of their work. I cannot see their work if they continue to revise or change it unless they hit submit again. In Google Classroom, I am the owner of my students work. I can see their work in real-time and provide feedback in the formative process.
How do you work-around this issue? I want to be able to see my students' work in real-time. This is the best way to provide direct and immediate feedback.

Hi Bobby,
Collaborations work well with student groups and editing in student groups, but for grading, I find it cumbersome. You may have found this answer already since your question was from January, but if you make your assignment submission for students a "Text Entry," They can embed their doc just as we do using the blue carat next to the youtube link in the text box tool tray. Make sure that they have shared the doc with you in the first place. That way, you can see and comment and see student changes in real time just like Google Classroom. My only complaint is that the window for the instructor to comment is smaller than is comfortable.
